Oraefi means wasteland, the landscape was not. One one side of us was endless flatland reaching to the ocean, and on the other side was immense mountains holing in Europe's largest glacier.
Birds in this area swooped from a hundred feet up to less than 10 feet to protect it's young. See next photo
The baby the bird was protecting. No nest. They just lie there.
